FLY-IN FISHING Dates of operation: Year-round FISHING: Fishing is synonymous with Southeast Alaska (Some of the best fishing in the world is located here in our backyard). King Salmon, Halibut, Coho Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Pink Salmon, Steelhead, Dolly Varden, Rainbow Trout, and Cutthroat Trout are the main sport fishing venues. We can fly people to lakes, rivers and forest service cabins where some of the best fishing in the world can be done. Visit the Fish and Game Sport Fish Division web site for more information and current regulations. NOTE: A sport fishing license is required and must be in the possession of all persons 16 years of age or older while sport fishing, and/or clam digging. Sport fishing licenses and King Salmon tags may be purchased from a license vendor (Pacific Wing is a vendor) or download applications and/or purchase licenses at the ADF&G Licensing web site. US FOREST SERVICE CABINS Dates of operation: Year-round Pacific Wings flies individuals and groups to many of the surrounding USFS recreation cabins. Cabin reservations are required and rental fees run from $25 to $45 a night per cabin. For a list of USFS cabins and maps visit the Tongass National Forest Cabins website. Contact us for any cabin recommendations in the surrounding area. Our pilots and staff have spent time at many of the cabins. |

POINT BAKER & PORT PROTECTION Dates of operation: Year-round Point Baker and Port Protection are small communities located on the Northern end of Prince of Whales Island. With Prime salmon and halibut fishing within a stones throw, this is a great salt water fishing area. Pacific Wing is familiar with many of the fishing lodges and bed & breakfast type establishments in the area. Transporting individuals or groups along with their gear is easy with our fleet and expertise. Below is a list of some of the businesses we work with to make your trip an excellent experience. ANAN CREEK BEAR VIEWING Dates of operation: June 15- September 15 If it is bears that you want to see, then Pacific Wings can take you to Anan Creek! This is a popular bear viewing area that is operated by the United States Forest Service. Pacific Wings will land at the outlet of Anan Creek, where you'll take a short walk along a wooden trail to the viewing location where you can watch these magnificent animals feed and play in the waters of Anan Creek below. For more information regarding Anan Creek Bear Viewing visit the Anan Creek Wildlife Viewing & the USFS Anan Wildlife Observatory web sites. Contact us for to book your flight into bear territory! NOTE: Passes are required during peak season July 5 to August 25 and cost $10. You need to acquire a pass before chartering a flight to Anan Creek. SPECIALIZED CHARTERS Dates of operation: Year-round KAKE, AK : Pacific Wings has many destinations, and one of the regulars is the village of Kake. A few Hunting transporters as well as kayak outfitters use Kake as a staging point for their associated trips. WRANGELL, AK : Wrangell is the close southern neighbor of Petersburg. Flights are quick and convenient. KETCHIKAN, AK : Ketchikan is one of the older communities in Southeast, and the gateway to the Inside Passage. Pacific Wings can deliver or pick up passengers at the Ketchikan airport to meet up with an Alaska Airlines flight, or at the town side harbors to visit the city of Ketchikan. SITKA, AK : A southeast community located on the outer side of the Inside Passage on Baranof Island, open to the Pacific Ocean. JUNEAU, AK : Pacific Wings does not run a scheduled service to Juneau, but with a simple charter Pacific Wing will have you in Juneau within a hour.
